The Secretariat's mission is to identify and champion areas of strategic importance to the future of Hungary and its society which, despite their domestic or international relevance, do not currently receive sufficient attention.

Cooperation
Promoting public-private cooperation
The Secretariat has set itself the goal of promoting public-private cooperation and intends to act as a bridge between government decision-makers and the defining actors of the economy and professional life. The first three initiatives are the development of a comprehensive National Fire Protection Strategy together with related nationwide educational programmes, the establishment and operation of the Autonomous Council of Sages, and the promotion of the sustainable use of geothermal energy as a national treasure. The Council of Sages supports long-term thinking by identifying areas of strategic importance that have receded into the background and by issuing independent professional positions.
Fire protection
National Fire Protection Strategy
The effects of climate change and global warming make it increasingly urgent to develop a comprehensive, conscious and long-term national fire protection strategy, together with the wide-scale operation of the related national awareness-raising and educational programmes.
Our aim is to involve the defining actors of both legislation and the economy and professional life in the initiative. We consider it our task to inform stakeholders, to assess the current regulatory and operational environment, and to formulate professional proposals that can contribute to the long-term development of domestic fire protection and to increased social preparedness.
Strategic advisory
Autonomous Council of Sages
The Council's purpose is to identify and champion areas of strategic importance to the future of Hungary and its society which, despite their domestic or international relevance, do not currently receive sufficient attention.
Its task is the comprehensive professional processing of these topics, the exploration of long-term relationships and possible directions of development, and the formulation of strategic proposals and professional positions.
The Council also regularly evaluates social, economic, technological and international current affairs and the defining trends, and forms an independent, professionally grounded position on them.
Energy independence
Geothermal energy as a national treasure
Hungary's geothermal endowments represent an outstanding national value in which significant, still untapped potential lies.
Geothermal energy can play a special role in the domestic energy mix: as a renewable energy source practically fully independent of the weather, it is capable of continuous and predictable energy production. Its conscious, long-term use can contribute to strengthening Hungary's energy independence, increasing security of supply, and building sustainable and competitive energy management.
Our goal is to regard geothermal energy not merely as an energy source but as a strategically important national treasure, and accordingly to promote its wider, sustainable and economically efficient use.

The Secretariat intends to act as a bridge between government decision-makers and the defining actors of the economy and professional life. We call on the relevant actors of legislation, the economy and professional life to signal their intention to cooperate with the strategic initiatives.

Our strategic goals have been published
The Secretariat has published its strategic goals: developing a comprehensive National Fire Protection Strategy together with nationwide educational programmes, establishing and operating the Council of Sages, and promoting the sustainable use of geothermal energy as a national treasure. We welcome professional and governmental inquiries related to these strategies.
